LG Electronics will unveil its new Universal IP Kit at IFA 2023, the world’s largest consumer electronics and home appliances trade show.

In a press release, LG described its Universal UP Kit as “a collection of innovative home appliance accessories and add-ons embracing universal design and made from recycled materials, the LG Universal UP Kit has been crafted to enhance usability for individuals facing physical challenges”.

Being modular means customers don’t need to replace their entire washer or dryer to make them accessible. The Kit includes an ‘Easy Handle Kit” that comes with detachable handles for the door and the detergent drawer for LG’s washer for people with limited hand mobility. And, for people with low vision, it features high-contrast colour options.

Developed with the assistance of LG’s Accessibility Advisory Council which includes people with disabilities, a date has not been confirmed when the kit will be released to the public. Click here for more information.
